Mowgli Legend of the Jungle – VFX Breakdown by Rodeo FX

Andy Serkis’ Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, a dark take on Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale, is available for streaming on Netflix. It features 105 shots delivered by Rodeo FX artists for two major sequences.

Rodeo FX CG team animated Shere Khan in a dramatic face-off that was also an exciting challenge for our compositors. They integrated actor Rohan Chand, who plays the man-cub, in a CG photoreal environment, surrounded by CG elephants. Rodeo FX artist mixed and refined multiple elements such as plates, creatures, sand, dust, matte painting and practicals to create this climactic scene.
