Making of IKEA Bee by Colorbleed Studios

For Ikea Switzerland Colorbleed Studios  brought this cute little critter to life. Since our little bee needed to be surrounded by IKEA furniture it was chosen to shoot background plates with live-action footage on top of which we would comp our animated character. In order to make him interact with the (fake) snow rocks were thrown in during the shoot.

There is not that much to a bee and therefore our animators had the challenge to really make this character come to life. By focussing on big body movements Colorbleed Studios have been able to portray its emotions without having to rely on facial expressions.
