The city hosts nearly 300 studios and employs over 13,500 individuals in the gaming industry, including world-renowned companies like Ubisoft, EA, WB Games, Eidos, and Epic Games.
Beyond gaming, Montreal’s film and animation sectors are equally impressive. The city is home to over 35 animation and visual effects (VFX) studios, employing over 6,250 professionals in 2D/3D animation and VFX. These studios have contributed to over 185 projects in Quebec in 2020 alone, including acclaimed works like “1917,” which won the 2020 Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
