Exclusive Making Of Mysterious Sculpture by Tomasz Strzalkowski

Background

As the basis I used the texture which was the ambient lighting source. I did the background when the main object had been ready so the next step was colour correction. I also added  some clouds as I was looking for the appropriate mood of the piece. Then, having such basis I began to draw different elements in order to create a background which would be intriguing, interesting and in accordance with the general vision (Fig_012 and Fig_013)

Conclusion

Whenever I create a new piece I always try to achieve the best possible effect. Sometimes it requires me to make difficult decisions or to start doing sth from scratch again.

An outline of the scene usually looks very nice in my imagination, but to find an appropriate solution to put it into reality can be very difficult. To be frank, it is a very exciting process because it’s all about making a particular vision real, a vision that comes from our inside. The process lasts until we don’t find the one and only solution which will make us feel satisfied and happy. Although the scene in the imagination is blurred, it often changes if we find the right shape at last and we feel that it is what we have been looking for. It is a very exciting and motivating moment.

As it is often the case while creating new graphics, I came across a lot of problems but as I was looking for the solutions, I learned new things and got to know new techniques. If you want to achieve your goal, it is crucial to try to do it whatever the obstacles you meet, let it be technical or inspirational problems. If we put a lot of effort, we are able to find solutions to all our problems and, in the end, it turns out that we can do more than we would ever imagine. I hope that you will find both this work and tutorial interesting and inspirational.
